ACH are looking for a confident and caring support worker for a housing support service we work closely with. You must hold proven experience in learning disabilities, personal care, epilepsy, autism and challenging behaviour.
You will be working various shifts, around your availability with established teams in a variety of community locations.
Experience
The successful Support Worker will be responsible for:
- Promoting the safeguarding of adults
- Acting as a key worker to specific adults
- Working in partnership with families to benefit adults
- Conducting personal care for adults
- Working within the National Care Standards
- Complying with the code and conducts of the SSSC
Requirements
In order to be considered for this post, you must be:
- Educated to SVQ 3 or HNC level, or with the ability to establish competency at this level
- Experienced in dealing with challenging behaviours and/ or problematic situations
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, adults and families
- Able to demonstrate emotional intelligence and an awareness of self and others
- Compassionate and empathetic
- You must have the right to work within the UK
- You must have a good standard of English and be able to communicate effectively
- A warm, compassionate and personable nature with the ability to work with patience, tact and understanding.
Skills
Can work as an individual or part of a team, competent at dealing with all stakeholders, patience, show initiative, time management and understanding.
